My Graduation Speech

My experiences as a Learning 2.0 student have been a rewarding, frustrating, intersting, eye-opening and worthwhile journey. I explored the computer in ways I never imagined and, at the same time, discovered how much more I need to learn. But one thing is definite... I'm less intimidated when I sit in front of my computer keyboard.
Knowing the existence of these information, compilation, socialization, education and entertainment tools online was a facinating learning experience. Its application to libraries is obvious because all these things are what happens when you walk into a library. Computer technology just help libraries become more efficient in the new Information Age.

Thank you for the opportunity to step out of my computer comfort zone. What a great ride.

E-Books

I enjoyed learning about e-books. Project Gutenberg is a wonderful endeavor. It even invites users to become a part of the project as proofreaders.

You Tube and Podcasting

YouTube site was interesting. The videos can be very entertaining and many are a waste of time. Narrowing to categories is a bit helpful. I thought the How To and DIY might be worthwhile. However the one I watched was better suited to the "attempted" comedy category.

Odeo Studio is a great, free way to become a podcaster. The podcasts in our 2.0 made the training more fun and interesting.

Web 2.0 Awards

The yahoo site Upcoming was a neat site for events planning. I looked up Frederick and saw a posting from Frederick Library Lovers. It gave the dates and locations for reading events at Artz. For our many summer travelers during this year's summer reading roadtrip program (or travel any time of the year), it could offer a neat resource for fun vacation planning.
My Zoho Document Experience.

This is a brief letter using a new tool from Learning 2.0. Hopefully I can transfer it to my blog as I continue my facinating journey through cyber space.
I'm going to try to add a link to Rollyo. Check out this site http://www.rollyo.com/ and learn more about grouping your favorite sites into a single location that you can share with others with similar interests.
